NTCA Fine Arts Conservatory '25–'26

Purpose

To provide North Tampa Christian Academy a robust fine arts department, offering focused musical theater training, theatrical training, vocal training, dance training, backstage technical training, excursions to work with professionals in the field, workshops by guest lecturers, teachers, and performers, spiritually enriching theater camps, and will produce powerful high quality religious productions and mainstream musical theater productions.

The conservatory will produce 3 productions a year: October, February, and May.

Process

The conservatory will be part of the North Tampa Christian Academy educational offerings. It will admit 20-24 students per session- (grades 7-12). This will be audition and application based only. Students will be responsible to utilize the Titan Teacher Network for any/all classes they are unable to attend due to their attendance at the conservatory. This will be the students’ focus and are expected to maintain high academy integrity throughout their involvement with the conservatory. At the end of each session, students may need to reapply/reaudition if they want to join a new session. Regular attendance is required, and students may only miss in cases of illness or family emergency. Any or all travel dates need to be communicated before admittance into the conservatory.

An additional $300 fee will be charged for conservatory season.

Conservatory Staff

  • Director: Devin Anavitarte

    • 12 years of educational experience

  • Dance Instructor: Jerè James

    • Owner/operator of Inez Patricia School of Dance

    • 30+ years of instruction

    • Horton pedagogy training from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater

    • Former students on Broadway in The Outsiders and The Lion King

Admittance Process

All conservatory students must be self-motivated, hardworking, dedicated, reliable, punctual, responsible- with an ability to sing, dance, and or act- or a combination of the before-mentioned, or prowess with backstage or technical abilities.

Student Responsibilities & Requirements

  • MS submissions must be A/B average

  • US submissions must average a 3.0 GPA

  • Go through an in-person-interview and audition

  • Communicate with teachers weekly

  • Cannot fall a week behind in class work- must watch the TTN videos, or expect to be retaught by teachers

  • submit all interfering travel dates before admittance is accepted

Admittance into the program will be decided by the conservatory director and the admission committee made up of conservatory staff.

Fees

  • Upper School (Grades 9-12): $1,700 per year or $850 per semester (monthly payments available at $170 over ten months)

  • Middle School (Grades 5-8): $800 per year or $400 per semester (monthly payments available at $80 over ten months)
